Laughter as brain injury medicine – just another day

01 Aug

I worked diligently to create a post for today.  I simply can’t find it.  I have no idea what happened to it, or where I put it.  That’s the story of my life!  I’ve also been searching for my brain for nearly two decades, so I better just call it another day!

Health

I know I’m not alone and before I make everyone around me miserable I’ll share this brief post.  I’m on my last frayed nerve, so the fuse is running short!

If anyone has the solution for organizing and prioritizing with brain injury please share your secret, because I’m truly damn tired of this!  I wouldn’t keep anything from you!

I’ll pay for the solution and millions of people are looking for the answer.

In snow skiing, there is a thing called a snow snake. It reaches out from under the snow and pulls the skier down.

I am convinced there is a similar creature in keyboards. They reach up and cause you to touch the wrong keys making what you just typed disappear into the vapors.

They really like to mess with the TBI injured.

Maria, It’s just another day and if I’m blessed with another tomorrow it gets better. Stay safe and take care, Edie

That’s an attitude that goes a long way, Edie! Bless you!

Welcome to my world! Just this morning I was flipping through the latest issue of a magazine, put it down and now its lost. Well just found it a little while ago in the bathroom. Have no idea how it got from the living room to bathroom. On the bright side I do know where my keys are, that’s what I usually lose! I’m sure you’ll find that post because we talked about it. Also, lost an important phone number, still looking.

It’s just daily life as TBI survivor! It’s a matter of getting past the issues, and moving on regardless of how frustrating it is. Few understand unless they’ve been there. Losing things and forgetting what one is doing can be hundreds to thousands times in a day…something I rarely share with others but that most TBI survivors understand. These are same issues that many encounter with ADD, ADHD, dementia, Alzheimer’s, and a number of other chronic illness and injuries but all are expected to fit the mold of “normal functioning” in society and daily living.

What do you mean It’s a matter of getting past the issues? TBI survivors don’t have issues. We have lifetime subscriptions.

btw, Finding the magazine in the bathroom suggests that at least she knows where to take care of business. Just remember the saying, The jobs not done until the paperwork is finished.

Thanks for reminding me that TBI survivors don’t have issues. We do have a lifetime of subscriptions! What a different way to look at it!. I sure appreciate this as it gives me a greater sense of what we face daily is really not something we caused and we’re given a LIFETIME OF SUBSCRIPTIONS! Again, thanks for your input!

I hope to remember to use a “Lifetime of Subscriptions” instead of issues. I love it and it’s true!
