Traumatic brain injuries are :

Acquired brain injury or non-traumatic brain injuries are:

- – Lack of oxygen to the brain
- – Drug and alcohol abuse
- – Stroke or aneurysm
- – Lyme disease & other diseases
- – Bacterial infections
- – Meningitis

Don’t forget Lyme disease and other nasty bacterial infections as a cause of Acquired Brain Injury!

I don’t know that you would call what I have a brain injury, it just acts like one…Idiopathic Intracranial Hypertension. No I don’t have a tumor, just the symptoms.
I’ve also had a blow to the back of my head that caused me to lose consciousness. I was told I had a severe contusion…and I had a hairline fracture of my 7th Cervical Vertebra. I was never told I may have a brain injury. I went through a lot with the recovery from that and still have pain in that area…plus arthritis in the cervical area.
as you’ve said….oh what they don’t tell you.
