Laughter as brain injury medicine … you didn’t step in that did you?

03 Jul

Ever seen those signs “No shirt, No shoes, No admittance!”  With all the new clothing fades it seems as though people wear sleepwear anywhere and pants far below the buttocks!

I’ve seen them wearing lounge pants in the grocery store, library, bank and taking walks.  I guess that’s how others save time!  Roll out of bed and do the daily tasks before getting cleaned up!

Now that is scary!  This is a fad … but with about 15 million people walking around with diverse TBI problems and other brain dysfunction anything must go!  They go without shoes, they go in slippers, they go half dressed, they go without combing hair, they go and go and go … anyway they can get through the day!

Unfortunately, these are the same people that will be arrested for indecent exposure or any number of things.  Yet, the everyday person is wearing attire inappropriate and that’s acceptable! How does that happen?

If we could we would ... We have four legs, some with short legs others with long legs ... but it's the humans with two long legs that are responsible to clean up after us! We do nearly everything we are told ... and sitting up and looking cute is one of those things!

I recently found myself on the go and until one mushy moment I didn’t realize what I had forgot!  In the winter I wear slippers and I’ve been many places in slippers … it just wasn’t the Cinderella slipper!

What has become of life that people are too busy to bend over and clean up after their four legged furry friends … dogs!  I love them, but I dislike that it seems beneath some others to clean up … when it’s their responsibility!  It’s not forgetfulness, it’s deliberate of owners to walk away without taking care of their personal responsibilities in life … but

If we could we would ... We have four legs, some with short legs others with long legs ... but it's the humans with two long legs that are responsible to clean up after us! We do nearly everything we are told ... and sitting up and looking cute is one of those things!

If I’d only watch where I was walking! Ge’ez, if only I wouldn’t walk around aimlessly or clueless! If I’d only remember to wear shoes all the time!  If I’d only clean up after others!  If only and If only and If only.  I only know this … It’s just more sh*t and it washes away quickly!  Most sh*t in life doesn’t wash away!

Awe, how fortunate I am!  When I stepped in it, I remembered after washing the feet to put on the shoes!  I guess this was similar to my alarm reminders.  It was just a different type of alarm!

Besides, I might not have noticed I stepped in dog (sh*t) poop if I had shoes on further tracking it into the car, store, or house could be worse!  It’s better to keep the bacteria and mess outdoors than carry it indoors! If that happened many others would be blaming my stupidity and shouting ignorant comments as though they were so perfect!

It was just a little messy, but I walked away with clean feet and a reminder what I forgot!   The shoes were on and my day continued without skipping a beat!  I’m blessed because I had sensation in my bare feet!

What have you done that you felt others would blame on you, injury, or illness but yet it happens to everyone and at least you had a good laugh over it?  Share your laughter with us!

i will often leave the water running at the bathroom sink for no apparent reason. Sometimes it will even be on over night with the hot water running oops!

I kind of winced when I could see where you were about to step! Oh dear Edie…that’s no fun. But your observations about it being something you can just wash away are another example of not sweating the small stuff…or the dog poop! LOL!

Ha! I sometimes have to check to make sure I am wearing clothes at all. When my balance is off and I have crazy-intense light and noise sensitivities, I sometimes cannot feel the rest of my body, so I don’t know if I’m even dressed. 🙂 The funny thing about it is that with my memory issues, sometimes I have to check 3-4 times before I am convinced. I check… and 15 minutes later, I’ve forgotten. Then I have to check again.

I once went to a job interview and saw a bunch of people and did a lot of standing up and moving around … only to realize later that my fly was open the whole time. I wondered why people were looking at me oddly… That explained it — I think, anyway. Maybe they thought I was just one of those mad computer scientists who’s so smart, they don’t need to worry about their fly being open. Fortunately — actually, unfortunately — I got the job. It was a terrible job with some terrible people, and I quit after three months.

Anyway, it’s always an adventure. It’s great that you have sensation in your feet. I might have stepped in it and kept walking all over the place.

You explained this so well … how one needs to recheck constantly! The minute you forget to recheck, is when you forget something! Oh well, what would life be like if we didn’t have to do that? I know we’d all like to try it!

I’ve had people embarrassed that were with me because I have pointed out things such as another’s fly being open or snot on their nose or anything that could cause personal embarrassment. I know if it were me I’d rather have someone tell me then spend my entire day not knowing and have ignorant people making comments instead of mentioning a simple fact. Yes, life is an adventure! Take care and stay safe.

Recently I’ve been having a hard time with Asthma. I cough a lot. And when I cough it often makes me poot. At home my husband and I laugh about it, but in public?! Oh my goodness! But we were in the doctor’s office and it happened, My eyes opened wide and started to say excuse me between coughs, and my doctor said….well we know that works! then laughed and assured me it was normal.

It’s actually funny that so much of our laughter lately has been the result of gas or poop. *snicker*
Like lying in bed last night and I passed gas, I wanted to warn my hubby in case it was smelly, I started to say I farted and pooted at the same time and it come out…”I fouted” Now I think we have a new word for passing gas. We laughed and laughed….of course that made the fouting worse.
    : )

I love your new term “fouted”! As normal as it is, it seems like when we are very young we think it is just a personal issue … until we finally realize it’s everyone and very normal! Keep on laughing!!!
